Anti-Static Additives for Fuel Safety

Prevent Static Build Up. Eliminate Ignition Hazards. Ensure Safe Handling.

Why Static Electricity in Fuels is Dangerous?

Fuel systems; especially in refineries, terminals, and during road/rail loading are prone to electrostatic charge build up. When this charge isn’t dissipated, it can discharge as a spark. In hydrocarbon rich environments, even a single discharge can lead to fire or explosion.

Certain refining processes like hydro desulfurization strip fuels of their naturally occurring polar species. These species normally help conduct static charge away from the fluid. Once removed, fuels become non conductive, increasing the risk of electrostatic ignition during:

High velocity fuel flow through pipelines

Tanker and tank truck loading

Switch loading (e.g., diesel loaded into tanks that previously contained gasoline)

What Is Switch Loading?

Switch loading is a common logistics practice where low volatility diesel fuel is loaded into tanks that previously contained high volatility fuels like gasoline. The residual gasoline vapors create a flammable atmosphere, and any static charge from the incoming diesel can cause a catastrophic ignition.

Rodanco Anti-Static Solutions Safety Through Charge Control

Rodanco provides specialized anti-static fuel additives engineered to neutralize and dissipate static charges in refined fuel systems, reducing the risk of spark formation and fire during handling, storage, and transfer.

Key Benefits

Minimizes Static Discharge Risk

Effectively dissipates electrical charge to prevent sparks in fuel systems.

Improves Fuel Conductivity

Enhances conductivity of treated fuels, particularly critical after desulfurization or deep hydrotreatment processes.

Ultra-Low Dosage Efficiency

Highly effective at very low concentrations, ensuring cost efficient protection.

Enhances Operational Safety

Critical for high risk environments including refineries, loading terminals, pipelines, and marine fuel systems.

Broad Fuel Compatibility

Suitable for diesel, gasoline, jetand biofuel blends across the fuel distribution network.
